WHAT IS MEDIATION
Mediation is a method of conflict resolution that aims to assist parents, pupils and education authorities who are in disagreement to reach a mutually acceptable solution, with the help of a neutral independent third party – the mediator. For more details see Mediation Information or e-mail mediation@edlaw.org.uk.

MEDIATION TRAINING
The education law unit offers in-depth training for mediators which covers both mediation skills and the additional support needs framework within which the mediator has to work.  This training is offered at a greatly reduced cost for volunteer mediators.  For more details, see training or e-mail mediation@edlaw.org.uk.  Training on the mediation process is also available for education authorities, advisers or parent groups.
